Where has India's largest 'Skywalk Bridge' been inaugurated?

The skywalk bridge, which was constructed by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC) under the Smart City funds, is 570 meters long and 4.2 meters wide, making it one of the longest in the country.

The skywalk bridge is not only a convenient mode of transport, but also a modern and aesthetic structure that enhances the city's skyline. It is equipped with escalators, lifts, CCTV cameras, bins, restrooms, and lights to ensure comfort and security for the users. It also has wheelchair facilities to assist people with disabilities. The skywalk bridge is expected to cater to around one lakh people daily, who can now avoid the chaos and pollution of Ranganathan Street and reach their destinations faster and easier.

The inauguration of the skywalk bridge was a grand event that witnessed the presence of several dignitaries, including Minister for Municipal Administration and Water Supply Department KN Nehru, Chennai Mayor R Priya, Health and Family Welfare Minister Ma Subramanian, Greater Chennai Commissioner J Radhakrishnan, and other officials. The Chief Minister himself walked across the skywalk bridge and interacted with the public who had gathered to see him. He even took selfies with some of them.

The skywalk bridge is a part of a larger multi-modal project that aims to improve pedestrian mobility in the city.
